101 Best Affirmations for Motivation.
Even with the best of intentions, itโs hard to stay motivated. New year plans to eat healthier, sleep earlier, react less, focus more, become harder to stick to after a while. Old habits die hard, so they say.
I know only too well how important motivation is. I love my life as a homeschool, blogging mom, but that doesnโt mean itโs a walk in the park. My days are sometimes intense and exhausting. According to Psychology Today, mothers are โdrowning in stressโ trying to do it all.
But itโs not all bad news. There are ways to manage stress, stay motivated and live a present and joyful life. I like to call this my formula for thriving.
I use a combination of meditation, running, journaling, eating well, being around positive people and affirmations to keep me in a good place. Spending time on this process turned my life around, and I am happy to share a part of it with you now. Affirmations are like a self-care powerhouse and I would not be without them.

What are affirmations and why they rock in five bullet points?
- Affirmations are positive statements used to challenge negative thoughts or beliefs.
- They are a super simple activity that you can do multiple times a day with little effort.
- You can choose to focus on one area of life, such as self-esteem or career, or focus on general positivity.
- They have a positive impact on the lives of others around you. Happier in yourself, happier in the way you interact with the people in your life.
- Motivational affirmations are the perfect way to start the day in a positive mindset. Own you morning, own your day.
Tips for effective affirmations.
Start by journaling if you can. Itโs good to see the negative patterns you have fallen into. Base your affirmations on these findings.
Keep them in the present tense. You want to say affirmations as if you have already achieved them for most positive outcomes. Such as โI am happyโ not โI want to be happyโ.
Keep them short and concise. This is where journaling can help. This doesnโt mean you canโt write longer affirmations if needed. Just keep to the point and make them as easy to remember as you can.
Be consistent. How often you say them are up to you? How motivated are you to change? I like to have my current affirmations written in a few places around the house, on my phone and in my bag. I say them multiple times a day. Just be consistent.
Speak them out loud and in front of a mirror. Do this once and see how powerful you feel whilst speaking them. You can also use down time like waiting for a doctorโs appointment to say them in your head.
Visualize the outcome. How does this mega positive, motivated version of you look, feel, talk, dress? Say it, see it, feel it.

There is a catch (isnโt there always?). You need to follow up with positive action.
Positive thoughts, positive actions, positive change.
Believe you can and you’re halfway there.

I really advise to journal alongside affirmations. Journals are a record of how far you have come and what challenges you have overcome (or are yet to overcome). I am really excited to be learning all about bullet journaling at the moment and I will have some great posts coming up on this.

It certainly is not a walk in the park! Even though I love it, it takes a lot of energy (and a fair amount of patience) to keep going. Thanks for the feedback.
