Opportunities Don’t Happen. You Create Them
Chris Grosser
There’s power in these words.
Motivation is an elusive friend.
One day it’s here and the next it’s gone. Green smoothie and a 5k run on Monday morning, chocolate croissant and a latte on Tuesday, anyone? That’s normal. Motivation is a powerful tool, but it ebbs and flows like all energy. You can go from smashing those goals to wondering who stole my mojo in a matter of hours.
But did you know there’s a simple hack to keep your motivation and achieve daily success?
Find powerful words of affirmation.
Find powerful words of affirmation.
Your mind is the first place to nurture if you lack motivation.
Observe your thought patterns and work out what’s causing this slump. Then find ways to create positive change. Positive action starts with positive thoughts. So watch those words, in your head and out loud.
Positive motivational affirmations are a great way to do this. And you won’t be alone. According to Google, searches for affirmations reached an all-time high in the year 2021.
Whether you are training for a marathon, building your business, becoming a happier mother, or simply wanting to live an intentional life, you need motivation to keep going.

What is an affirmation for motivation?
Affirmations are short phrases or positive statements you repeat to yourself. Either out loud or in your head, multiple times a day.
If you want a simple way to stay motivated and show yourself and your mental health some self love, make affirmations your new best friend.
Celebrities from Michelle Obama to Jim Carrey and Jennifer Lopez have all shared their love of affirmations. You can build a more positive mindset, too.
The good news is affirmations are a great place to start.
Real-talk. Please don’t confuse positive affirmations with toxic positivity. You can learn how to create a positive state of mind, but with an acceptance that life is not always positive.

How do you feel about these daily motivational affirmations?
The best thing about using positive daily affirmations is that they take little time and effort. If time is limited for you, affirmations might be your new secret weapon.
There’s a little pro tip to supercharge your affirmations, and it’s this: you need to feel it before you can see it. If you can feel the positive change or specific goal before it becomes reality, that is when your subconscious mind really takes notice. This takes a little practice and meditation is helpful here, it puts your head into a quiet state so you can more easily feel the emotion whilst thinking the affirmation.
I like to use this guided meditation from the Honest Guys to clear my mind of unhelpful thoughts and put me into a calm state before my daily affirmations practice.
What is the most powerful word of affirmation?
The most powerful word of affirmation is “I”.
Why? Because you are putting yourself front and central to the statement.
I am affirmations also bring us to the immediate present tense; they are not some far-off dream.
Compare these two.
I am strong versus I believe in my strength.
Both are good affirmations, but see how you feel saying I am strong in front of a mirror. You can’t help but feel it.
You need to feel it even before you can see it. An I am affirmation is a simple tool to achieve this.
Even if you are not strong, in the perfect job, the calm mother you want to be an I am affirmation helps you stop focusing on what is and look for what can be.
In terms of motivation, I am allows you to feel your achievement before you physically can see it.
Now stack those good days up and you are on the path to success.
How do you create a good day?
By focusing on how you feel. I like to always start my day with a short meditation and repeating my affirmations of choice.
You can start with some positive morning affirmations, such as
I am starting a great new day.
I am ready.
It’s my time to shine.
Then take that good feeling and let it filter into your day.
Yes, I’m a mother and meditation might seem like a luxury, but mindful time is a good idea for all of us (especially mothers). Having a calm headspace is a positive way to start your day.
Let’s wrap this up.
Affirmations are more than just positive thinking. They are a way to set your intention and bring positive change to the forefront of your mind. Think of them as your mantra to live by.
The next time you need a motivation boost, why not try a positive motivational affirmation to kick start your mojo?
Affirmations are a free, simple tool to boost your mindset, so why not try them?
What are your big goals (and small goals) you are working on right now? Why do you need motivation?
I am working on finding land for our rural home. Big goal but my daily motivation affirmations, vision board and commitment to finding joy in life keep me going strong.
Something extra that has helped supercharged my motivation recently is learning about the 5 Second Rule from the utterly wonderful Mel Robbins.
You can learn everything about the 5 Second Rule in this video below, courtesy of Positive HiT. I would also check out the Mel Robbins podcast today. It’s epic.
Let me know what you need motivation for at the moment. It’s great to hear all your stories. Have I missed a brilliant affirmation off this list? Drop it in the comments below, I might add it to my next list of daily affirmations.
For now, keep going. Trust in your brain’s ability to change and grow. You can do whatever you put your mind to, just watch those words.

I’m a firm believer of affirmations and how they can transform your mind. What we tell ourselves can change our feelings and our body’s response. If you have negative concepts operating inside your intellect, can you change them? The answer is sure.
Reciting affirmations is an incredibly easy and powerful way to practice self-love. Simple words and sentiments truly do have a significant impact on our well-being. You’ve shared so many relatable and relevant affirmations. My favorites on your list: I am brave enough to step out of my comfort zone & I am worthy of achieving my goals.
I love that one too. Bravery is something I have worked on over the years.
Yes! I love these motivational affirmations. When I was younger I used to think this kind of self pep talk was lame, but I find myself doing this all the time. “I can do it!” “I deserve this!” “There’s no reason I can’t!” “Just one more minute (of running)” LOL It gets me through whatever I’m trying to do.
I do that too when I am running! Just one more mile…. yes we do change ALOT as we get older but that is how it is supposed to be.
I love the theme of this post. Motivation and affirmation go hand in hand. We can definitely keep the motivation going to achieve our goals through powerful affirmations. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are welcome Hari

I love how you broke the affirmations up by topic! You highlighted something so key here, that we can use affirmations for such a variety of different occasions in our lives. I always love to put one on a sticky on my desk to get me through long days. Right now, my desk affirmstion says, “I will make an effort daily to make my life more idyllic.”
Idyllic… I LOVE that word!
It’s definitely a privilege to set the mood for the day the way we want to live it. And also responsibility, because how you start the day is how you will continue it.
A good and comprehensive list! Positive affirmations are great tools for starting each day with a positive mindset.
