A little about me before I discovered my Mumtastic Life…
HI THERE, I’M AMANDA.
A young at heart redhead, mom from central England. I homeschool my two free spirited boys (5 and 8), run a small remedial massage for women business and am addicted to running, being out in the wilds of nature in our camper and on a lifelong search for the best brownie. And of course I blog.
Everything sounds wonderful (if a little tiring) but nope. Not a hope. I have been on the roller coaster of worrisome thoughts, self-doubt and low moods since my teenage years. Then I was battered by a head storm of epic proportions after my second child was born. These babies really play havoc with your headspace.
Joy was nowhere to be seen. She had left the building.
BUT something was bubbling up inside me. After two years of support from my family and friends and a great maternal therapist, something had shifted. I wanted to listen to the call of that free spirited woman inside me. The one who existed in my twenties, whilst traveling the world. She was still there. Even as a busy momma she still wanted air time. I decided in January 2019 to step off the treadmill and run towards her, literally. I started running, committed to meditation, reconnected with my wild spirit, and changed the way I thought, spoke, worked, and lived.
I committed to a life of transformation. There is no ending, just an ongoing journey. I gave myself the gift of ALWAYS BEING ABLE TO CHANGE MY MIND.

That’s why you are really here. So let me answer your question. I have narrowed down my formula for wellbeing. One that loves your life as a mom and honours your desire to be a wild, free and joyful woman at the same time.
MY 6 PRINCIPLES FOR A MUMTASTIC LIFE:
Mindfulness. Living in the present, taking time to meditate, being grateful and aware. Decluttering starts in the mind.
Health. Nourishing your body, keeping it moving, letting it rest. Listen to what your body is saying to you.
Freedom. Living with intention and walking your own path, even if this is hard to do. Embrace the call of the wild spirited woman inside you. Intentional living is the key to unlock joy.
Creativity. As women, we are creative beings by nature. Allow yourself the joy of creating just for fun. Draw, write, weave, plant. Whatever calls to your soul. Do that.
Relationships. Surround yourself with people who light up your soul. In return, be a shining light to others who need you. Model joyful and meaningful relationships to your children.
Purpose. Listen to your calling. Be the mom you want to be (not the one you are told to be), follow your passions, work for something that has meaning to you.

This blog is an ever-growing collection of stories, inspiration and ideas to find your own Mumtastic Life.
Like me, it has evolved, and shape shifted since its inception. The wellness and joyfulness of moms (and mums, mommas and every other name for the heroines that we are) is the name of the game here. Life still has it challenges for me. Anxiety and self-doubt are always there ready to pounce when my guard is down.
Parenting a strong-willed child, homeschooling and running a business is not a walk in the park. But I know my core values now and I know what I need to do to keep coming back to joy.
Life is messy and chaotic but you can always live it with joy, freedom and love.
