The 11 Best UK Homeschool Blogs To Follow (2022).
Homeschooling is on the rise across the world and especially in the UK, which is where I call home at the moment. The good news? This means the homeschool community is also expanding. Homeschooling is all about finding your community, in person, and online.
One thing I have noticed since starting our homeschool journey is most of the blogs and influencers I follow are US home educators. I love an international tribe of homeschoolers, but itโs nice to read blog posts about families in the UK too. Thereโs quite a few of us and we need to up our presence in the homeschool world, I think.
Iโve compiled a list of the top 11 UK homeschool blogs to follow in 2022 for seasoned home educators or relative newbies like myself. Helpful resources, inspiration, community and even lesson plans are all out there. You just need to find them. So get reading mama.
The 11 Best UK Homeschool Blogs To Follow in 2022.
- An Adventurous Education. (formerly Five Escape The Classroom.
This is a really fun blog all about living homeschool life through adventure around the world and at home. Here you will find ideas for adventures in the UK and overseas as well as โmicro adventurersโ like learning to wild forage and movie lists. I love the obvious joy that shines from this homeschool family.
Iโve actually been following this blog since before we moved to homeschooling. I love the idea of world schooling and travel with your children and this blog actually made me consider a different way to educate. So thank you! If you are a homeschooling parent whoโs passionate about travel and adventure but worried about how this all fits with having children, this is your place.
Ok, this might be my blog but I think itโs pretty amazing. Mumtasticlife is actually a focus on the mental health of all the mums and moms out there (and of course dads too). Itโs easy to forget about your own mental and physical health when you homeschool. My blog isnโt the place for craft ideas or national curriculum study topics, it focuses mostly on how to keep you feeling great, so you can love and laugh in your family life.
This is a great post about using affirmations for self-esteem in your daily life. I am a big believer in affirmations, as you will see throughout my blog. It takes courage to be different. Affirmations give you a confidence boost to deal with all the questions about why, how and why again you will receive about home educating.
The thing I adore about Sarahโs blog is the monthly round ups of their homeschool experience and her book reviews. She has some brilliant choices on there that I have found nowhere else.
Full of cool free resources for home educating, reviews of products and experiences from this happy-looking family of four (and Ziggy the dog). There is even a Facebook page for anyone who wants to join the Rebel Tribe.
Even though this family now live in Florida, when they started home educating they were in the UK. This is one of those great home education blogs that is jam-packed with great resources. They have an epic list of free pintables and I particularly love the seasonal and holiday activities.
I love the month round up called This Homeschool Life (even though they are not currently up to date). Jess looks like one of those hip homeschool moms that I kind of envy. The craft blog (letโs do something crafty) is the best part of this site. If your kids are into crafts (mine are even though I suck at crafts) you wonโt find a better place to find plenty of ideas for your next project.
This is such a cute blog, full of simple homeschool ideas (which I am all for) and family adventures. If you are looking for travel and walking ideas for beautiful Scotland (the next place I want to take our van to) then this is the place to hang out. Jenny also blogs about their home education diary (something I am feeling I need to start doing, seen as everyone else does this). This blog feels like reading a joyful diary of a good friend.
This homeschooling blog is all about the great resources. Arts and crafts, maths, sensory. Itโs all here in abundance. If you are lacking inspiration (we ALL have those days/weeks) then I would suggest heading over to this blog. Some resources require payment, but there are plenty of free choices, too.
10. Our Family Life
This blog is by the Tech Savy Mum, Adele and even though not a homeschool blog specifically it goes into detail about how to keep our kids safe online, something we all need to know about. They also have a youtube channel if you prefer videos to blogs.
I have only recently found this blog and even though it is world based and not UK specific, I still want to mention it. If you are interested in raising a globally aware family, then I suggest you spend some time at this blog. I particularly love the food adventure section. Even if you canโt travel with your kids right now, there are still plenty of ways to learn about our big, beautiful world.
Thereโs your 11 blogs to follow in 2022. No matter if you have young children or teenagers, follow a formal style of education or more child led and unschooling or still finding your feet (like myself) there is something for you in this post.
It can be a bit of a rabbit hole at first, trying to find what works for you. Donโt let that put you off. Just know it takes time to find your flow and you will have good and bad days, just like every other parent.
Homeschool life is a great adventure and ever evolving, just like our kids. Enjoy your homeschooling journey and live for the joy.
