How will you use these self compassion quotes?
If berating yourself for not getting more done, not responding the right why, not….. (you fill in the blank) is a frequent scenario for you, maybe it’s time to shift your perspective.
Here are some ideas on how you can use these self compassion quotes to help you with that shift.
- Create a self compassion vision board and write quotes that inspire on it.
- Make a screensaver for your phone or laptop with the quote that helps you the most.
- Set a reminder with a quote that flashes up on your phone.
- Use them as a mantra for living.
- Use them as a journal prompt and see what insights you find (frequent journaling is a major component of self-compassion for me)
If there is a particular way you like using inspirational quotes that I have not mentioned, or a quote you think needs to be on this list, let me know. Drop me a message in the comments below.
Self compassion is a must for me and I hope you can find it too, especially on a difficult day. Us mothers need to stick together, hold each other up. This post (and Mumtastic Life and my book in the making) is a small way of me doing that for you.

I absolutely love these quotes. My favorite is by Helen Keller. Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the face. This speaks volumes to me. Thanks for sharing.
Love that one too. You are welcome!
What a wonderful idea! We all need a little help being kind to ourselves from time to time.
Agree with that Courtney!
Such a beautiful list of quotes. It’s hard to give yourself grace sometimes, so it’s always helpful to keep things like this close by when you need that reminder.
Yes I agree, reminders to go easy on yourself when you need them.
Thank you for sharing this post! I – like so many people – definitely struggle with showing myself compassion. You’ve included so many beautiful and touching quotes that it’s hard to choose a favorite. I’ve gotten in the habit of keeping meaningful and inspiring quotes in my office, so I’ll definitely be keeping some of these close at hand. Thank you again for sharing!
I have them printed all around my desk too. Great idea. Glad you enjoyed them.
It couldn’t be more true that we can be our own worst enemy. I’m guilty of it too. These quotes are certainly touching and I’m going to try a few out in the near future! Thanks so much for sharing!
Very welcome. Glad they are of use and yes, it’s a difficult habit to break.
